A factory tour experience for Chinese visitors

Before departing to Milan for Salone del Mobile 2018, we received almost 100 visitors from Redstar Macalline, a Chinese company headquartered in Shanghai that engages in homebuilding materials and operates a network of more than 200 shopping malls where they sell all types of furniture and home decoration goods. Redstar Macalline is the No.1 home furniture/lifestyle retailer in China.

They were interested in finding how Wewood's furniture is made and, during the factory visit, they had the opportunity of discovering all the steps of the process, from the wood selection and storage to the detailed explanations and descriptions of the methods used in furniture and solid wood finishing.

They were amazed, saw everything with attention and wanted to touch the wood to feel the quality.

Our factory tours are not only a form of establishing new industry contacts but also to discover the center of furniture production in Portugal, just one hour drive from Porto.

In this tour, they had the chance to find how furniture is made nowadays in Portugal with a mix of craftsmanship and technologies like 5-axis CNC milling machines.

This factory visit was a great attraction for this Chinese group and, besides the work ambiance they were involved, it was at the same time a group tourism experience.
