Interior design trends for 2022

2022 is almost here and it's time to start looking for what will be trending in the new year. To get a sense of what to expect, we've been talking with some interior designers and they showed us what clients are asking and what they are proposing to their houses.

Neutral tones

People are searching for alternatives to traditional neutral tones in furniture. White and cream are being replaced by other neutral tones such as camel, cognac or taupe, for example.

These warmer colours can help people to create more cosy spaces that can be lived in.

Colours

In 2022, homes will certainly have more colour. From the interior design proposals we've been looking at, the clients want to brighten their rooms with happy colours like blue, green or orange.

Gray is also becoming a go-to colour for walls. Warm greys add the perfect touch of cosy and calm feelings, which are two of the top feelings people want in their homes.

Mid-century furniture

Mid-century furniture is becoming more and more popular. In 2022, we'll see mid-century furniture start to take centre stage.

The mid-century furniture also works well with grey so it makes sense they're finding their way into people's homes together.

Blending minimalism

In 2022, people will mix the minimalism style with more dynamic elements, allowing the space to be clutter-free but without that feeling of emptiness.

Home offices

In the next year, many people are continuing to work from home and home offices will still be a priority.

Many of the white-collar and independent workers will give up the traditional offices and make nice home offices a must, which means beautiful and functional.
