New Rabelo Sofa

Our clients have been asking for a new sofa, a bit different from our successful Bowie sofa, for a long time. We made their wishes come true by creating the Rabelo sofa.

It's a remarkably soft and comfortable sofa that can fit any open-plan, hospitality setting or high-end public area, available in two versions: two or three seats with a range of quality fabrics or leather.

The designer, Christophe de Sousa, tried to include timeless design elements with a modern expression and was inspired by the silhouette of one of the most popular icons of Porto city, the Rabelo boats, that during centuries carried barrels of port wine from the vineyards to the cellars and that now are used as sightseeing cruises that sail down the Douro River.

This is the second piece designed by Christophe that is inspired by Porto city and the Douro river, after Bridge desk and it fits perfectly his other pieces: the Lago tables that we launched last June.

The inner structure is made in solid wood with elastic belts, and together with the padding in crush-proof foam with different densities that conveys a deep comfort allowing its user to sit at multiple angles for hours.

The fabrics or leather with vertical bands and parallel stitching gives it that touch of style and can be tailored with our range of colours or even with any other option chosen by the client.

Underlining the expression of the sofa, we could not forget the solid walnut legs which are set from the back to the front to create the effect of suspension, reminding the boats that named the sofa.
