Wewood supports Moda Lisboa 2019

For its 53.ª edition, Moda Lisboa is promoting and sensitizing partners, teams, suppliers and all the public present at Lisboa Fashion Week to adopt more sustainable consumption practices and chose some of our furniture, made from sustainable materials, for the VIP room and one of the events, the Fast Talks.

Moda Lisboa

It started on the 10th of October and ends on Sunday 13th of October, in the former Army General Uniform and Equipment Workshops, at Campo de Santa Clara, Lisbon.

Our Sartor lounge chairs that in a certain way got the name from the fashion world, and Bica tables (from one of our old collections) were at the centre stage of a discussion about the positive impact of the fashion industry.

The discussion, moderated by Joana Barrios, actress, presenter, author and influencer, tried to understand how the fashion sector can be responsible for a change of behaviours and attitudes that accompany the urgent environmental, social and ethical needs of the planet, avoiding its exhaustion and the increase of problems.

The panel included the fashion designer Alfredo Orobio, one of the founders of the Awaytomars collective, a collaborative network that includes “more than 15,000 designers from 93 countries”; Carolina Alvarez-Ossorio, the communication director of Ecoalf, a sustainable fashion company, which uses, among others, plastic bottles, used tires and fishing nets to create collections; the founder of Gooders social marketing platform, Eva Geraldine Fontanelli; and Patrick Duffy, the founder Fashion Exchange, an international project that promotes the exchange and sustainability at global fashion.

The sustainability and the environmental concerns are always on the top of our concerns and this was not the first time that we support events that contribute to the shifting of priorities in the collective consciousness.
