New Flagship Store in Lisbon

The center of Lisbon has become increasingly appealing to interior design and décor stores. In an area once dominated primarily by fashion brands, the variety has expanded, with major international names on Avenida da Liberdade, as well as local brands. We also wanted to join “the party” and we recently opened our Flagship Store in the area, designed down to the finest details to reflect the brand's style.

Joana Marcelino, the creative director, is at the helm, but the wood, an essential raw material for furniture production, speaks for itself. In each solid piece, the knots and grain patterns reveal how these objects are crafted, respecting the natural texture of the wood while adhering to a simultaneously understated and timeless aesthetic.

"These pieces are designed to be passed down from generation to generation," Joana points out. As a trained architect, she has been leading Wewood's creative direction for two years.

Divided into different environments, the store covers the entire home without losing the brand’s identity, which was established 12 years ago. The space showcases both new designs and house classics, such as the Metis desk designed by Gonçalo Campos, equipped with drawers, tabletops, and even a secret compartment.

Collaborating with designers is a core part of Wewood's DNA, so, further along, you can find Re-form, a console designed by Alain Gilles, features two modules that can be rearranged with a simple movement.

Among the latest releases are the Botero chair, designed by Brazilian Fabricio Ronca, and the Platform bed, Christian Haas' dream design (and that of many others who step into the store and explore its lower floor).

While targeting the luxury market, we embrace values like sustainability and heritage, creating pieces almost immune to the passage of time.

The new store welcomes both end customers and industry professionals. Additionally, we also work on interior design projects, offering a selection of international brands that complement our northern Portugal-made furniture, covering textiles, rugs, ceramics, and lighting.

The space offers a glimpse into Wewood's aesthetic, as we set our sights on greater ambitions. With sales spread across Europe and beyond the Atlantic, its expansion plans are bold, targeting major capitals like Paris, Madrid, and New York — each destined to host a home for solid Portuguese furniture.
